GLASS BEACH

Garbage dumped into the Pacific Ocean becomes treasure for others many years later. Broken jars and bottles that once contained medicines, liquor, or who knows what, are now precious gems that still retain their brilliant color!  These pieces of glass have had their sharp edges slowly ground away, forming smooth pebble-like  stones. A foggy cool misty day many years ago was spent scavenging for these bits and pieces of history.  With each  colorful piece, our voices could be heard announcing the discovery! Glass Beach is located on the Northern California coast near the fishing town of Eureka.

Ahh, brings back wonderful memories. My wife and I spent many relaxing hours on the rocky beach at Corona Del Mar collecting beach glass. Somewhere I think we still have a container full of it. Thanks for the post!
